Founded by Mario Prada in 1913, Prada is one of the world’s most successful Italian fashion houses. The brand originally started off as a leather goods and luggage store in Milan, but it quickly evolved into something much more. Mario’s daughter Luisa took over the brand from her father eventually and this was later followed by her daughter Miuccia taking over in 1978; both women have led to Prada becoming the brand that we know it to be today.
From its origins of leather goods and luggage, handbags, totes and backpacks were all added to the collection in the late 1970s. In 1984 shoes were added, Prada womenswear was released in 1988 and menswear was first offered in 1993.
It wouldn’t be until 2003 that Prada Parfums where first seen, with a line of exclusive fragrances, all of which focused on floral scents. This began to grow into the much larger Prada Parfums collection from 2004. A range of exclusive fragrances are offered by Prada Parfums, some of which are designed for the affordable mass market and some of which are designed for a more luxurious consumer. With Prada Parfums, there’s something for everyone.
